Amys Nails Kingston Reviews

Worst nail salon I’ve ever been too, no hygiene, no manners, very dirty and run down salon, terrible pricing for what you receive, had a take off of acrylics, thinking you can’t really go wrong with a service like this went to their salon as a desperate decision, paid £10 to have my fingers cut, and filed to nothing, the state of my nails I’ve never seen anything like it, the lady first tried to prize them off with a plastic thing and when that didn’t work put then in acetone, they were then dipped in and out of the acetone until she was actually able to get them off, my nails are weak from having acrylics but this has messed them up even more, never stepping foot in this place again they should be reported and shut down!!!

Best nail salon ever! Been there for 3 times now. I am so happy with my stiletto nails, perfect shape.

Worst nail experience! Didn't remove all skin from feet. Felt rushed and didn't receive any massage on hands or feet. I regularly get my nails done and always receive this else where. When asked to use razor on my feet the nail tech refused. I asked again and one of them took a nail file to be feet. Then I mentioned that if the skin was really bad next week I would pop back. Then the nail tech started to shout at me saying that the customer was not always right! I couldn't understand what else she was shouting. Made me feel very uncomfortable. Would definitely not recommend! Very rude staff!

I have been going to Amy's Nails for a number of years, having never had as good a mani/ pedi anywhere else. Unfortunately today, I misunderstood the lady on the front desk over something trivial and apologised. She glared at me for what felt like an age and walked off. It was a minor misunderstanding , I was polite etc. I understand you need a tough cookie like her on the front desk, as I've seen some of the behaviour she's had to deal with. However, for regular and polite customers, her behaviour was disgusting. I walked out and will never go back. Somehow I doubt she cares! I'll go to Forever Nails now - just wish the main man would quit saying "darling" every five seconds!

When I complained the boy who works there told me to "f**king shut up"

---

Awful
Absolutely awful.
Had an appointment at 10:00, arrived at 10:04 and as I was late, was told that the walkins waiting had priority. told the wait would be less than 30 minutes yet I waited over an hour.

The pedicure didn't get rid of the hard skin. The nails were not buffed enough so there was a rough surface and the varnish was left on the edges of the skin and on the cuticle. There was a white nail edge visible to the two big toes.

I didn't realise how bad the pedicure was until I saw my feet in daylight.

When I returned later that day, to ask them to fix the pedicure, initially I was told that it was my fault my feet were so hard (they're not) and they were cut too short (it was the nail technician who trimmed them that short).

When I questioned that it was more like a polish change, the woman was dismissive and said that she couldn't do anything about the skin in case it made me bleed.

When I showed her how shoddy the rest of the nail paint was, she said that she would have someone touch it up and said that the wait would be up to an hour.

When I said that I had spent enough time waiting in her salon, she told me not to raise my voice. I refuted that I was raising my voice. To which the boy who works there told me to f**king shut up.

Awful service, awful pedicure, very unprofessional.

Haven't been there since they were rude about being disabled.
I'm always in Kingston and notice this shop nearly always empty, no surprises there! But there is a good nail bar just round the corner, forever nails and spa.

I dont want to give a star. I went in and wanted gel nails done. I was told l would have to wait that was no problem. I was then told to pick a polish of the shelf and though ok maybe they would match up the nail polish with a gel colour. The lady was nice enough though but didnt speak a lot of English. She took off my gels that l had on. She didnt push my cuticles back and the primer was in an old OPI polish bottle. I said again that l wanted gel nails. She mixed up a power and the liquid and she said this would be stronger. When l have had my nails done before the gel came from a pot you dont have to mix it. When the acrylic had been put on she painted them with a normal nail polish. No gel no UV lamp to cure them. Not happy. £35 for this what a rip off. Will not be going back.

I had my nails done here last week, all good except the lady noticed a crack in one nail just before painting it; but she said she will continue anyway but if it does break to come in and she would fix for free. It did break, and today I went in to get it fixed but they charged me £5, she remembered me from last week and the crack but denied offering to fix it for free! I will not be returning!!!

A terrible manicure and unacceptable manicurist.

I have been to Amy's nails a couple of times and had the rudest manicurist I have ever come across. I was shocked at how rude she was and also how she mumbled instructions and glared at me when I couldn't hear her. She grabbed my hand and was forceful with placing my hand during shellac application. She kept sighing and what was meant to be a relaxing experience was horrendous. I came out feeling stressed out and tense and had to ring to complain. For 25 pounds my shellac is now already coming off and I had a completely unacceptable experience. Do not recommend!

I have been visiting this nail salon for a few years now. All the technicians are knowledgeable and friendly and I have been very happy with the service I have received. Generally no need to book and they keep the place nice and clean.

Scalded feet and No customer service
Came in for a shellac mani/pedi prior to going on holiday.

20 minute wait to start with, I was asked to pick my colours- wasn't told to check the back of the colour wheel- turns out my initial colour wasn't availible.

Was told to remember my colour numbers and then led to the pedi chairs. Was told to sit down- sat down and automatically put my feet in the bath below.... Big mistake!! Scalding water- feet up like lightening! Someone topped it up with water- no apology.

Had my pedi and mani done by the rudest girl I have ever met- no communication other than to sigh and glare at me. Scrubbed stupidly hard and a painful experience.

After pedi had finished moved to mani chair where light crashed down on the table-making me jump! I got no apology for this from ANYONE in the shop and just another glare from the manicurist at the fact that a layer had smuged!! Sorry a light fell on the table love! What did you think I would do!

Will not be returning and hope others think twice.

This is the worst experience ever. My shellac manicure was done within a few minutes. Horrible customer service, miserable manicurist. It's a dump. I will never go back to this place.
